Well, the Neo-Geo BIOS is not called bios.zip, it's called neogeo.zip: You also need to have the right ROM set for the emulator, this is covered more in the tutorial at the top of: If you have a Pi 3 and are using lr-fba-next, search Google for 'fba 0.2.97.38 reference set' and that will give you the correct ROMs. I am a newbie at this. I got rasberry pi 3 cana set. I put retropie on a microSD (32gb) and have loaded all of my roms without an issue. Do I need to do something differently with the NEOGEO roms?

– Let us know if you need to know if a specific game is present or not on the collection. We can respond to special requests to add a game here and there for you before shipment, but we’ve included nearly all PC-Engine games ever published, except for some mature-themed games that we felt to be inappropriate.

All sales are final. We don’t do refunds, but we might replace the items under special conditions. All items are tested before shipment. The card is tested thoroughly to ensure it is not corrupted. That being said, if you have any issues with your purchase, let us know and we can work something out with you. If you feel you have a defective item, please contact us within 24 HOURS UPON RECEIPT OF YOUR PACKAGE to be entitled to the replacement of your card. We will always work with you to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your purchase and that the card runs flawlessly for you.
→ Defective microSDs
We test the cards thoroughly before shipment, but it’s always possible that the cards get damaged during shipment, if they get exposed to excessive temperatures. If you receive a card that does not work for some reason, please get in touch within 24 hours of receiving your order, and we will work out a replacement for you. We don’t accept complaints after that period. We are not responsible if the card gets damaged with use. We always recommend our customers to make a backup of the microSD on your computer, so if something happens, you can restore it and keep playing.

If we have all items in stock we usually ship in 3 to 4 days, however, it might take longer if we run out of cards or supplies. We will keep you posted.

lr-fbneo is the prefered Pi 3/Pi 2 Neo Geo emulator due to its accuracy.
Neo Geo Roms Not Working On Retropie
lr-fbalpha2012 is useful for any games that may be running slow in the latest version of lr-fbneo for a Pi 3/Pi 2, and if used exclusively instead of lr-fbneo will allow you to do full system updates without worrying about needing to update your ROM Set, but comes at the cost of inaccuracy such as games having audio issues across the entire library and other issues that have been fixed in the latest version of lr-fbalpha.
PiFBA is recommended for those on a Pi 0 or Pi 1.

Neo Geo ROMs require a neogeo.zip BIOS file with the exact same MAME or FB Neo version as the emulator you select. Place the correct neogeo.zip with your ROMs in:

The menus allow you to change various settings like region, dip switch settings for gameplay options like difficulty or blood, and coin or free play settings. Unibios settings will persist after quitting FBA, launching another Neo Geo game, or rebooting RetroPie.

As there is no menu to configure controllers with PiFBA, like there is with Mame4all, you'll have to edit the aforementioned file manually.

Neo Geo Emulator Retropie
As a caveat, if you're using _gngeo-pi__, the ROMs you have must match the file in gngeo_data.zip located at:
Neogeo Bios Zip Retropie
You can only play roms that have the same name as these .drv files, e.g. mslug2.zip (rom) and mslug2.drv (data). If the names of these files don't match, GnGeo-Pi will crash. (see the list at the bottom of this page for compatible ROMs)
